SSH Telnet
Find out more about SSH and how this easy protocol can provide you with the ability to easily handle whole web servers.
SSH, or Secure Shell, is a network protocol that is used to connect to a web server and conduct various tasks using a command line. The protocol is preferred by many experienced users, due to the fact that the info transmitted over it is encrypted, so it cannot be intercepted on the way by a 3rd party. SSH access could be employed for lots of things depending on the type of Internet hosting account. With a shared hosting account, for example, SSH is one of several ways to import/export a database or to upload a file if the server allows for it. If you have a virtual or a dedicated server, SSH could be used for practically anything - you may install software or restart certain services such as the web server or the database server which run on the machine. SSH is used largely with UNIX-like Systems, but there are clients which permit you to employ the protocol if your laptop or computer is running a different Operating System too. The connection is made on TCP port 22 by default and the remote web server always listens for incoming connections on that port although lots of providers change it for security reasons.

SSH Telnet in VPS Servers
The
VPS server offers that we offer feature SSH access by default, not as a paid upgrade or a feature that you need to enable. The minute your new server is prepared, you will be able to connect and start working on your content via the login details you have entered during the order process. A copy of the SSH credentials shall be sent to you via e-mail too. Since your VPS shall be isolated from the other ones on the physical server, there are no limitations as to what you can or can't do through SSH. You are able to download, install and manage any piece of software which will run on a Linux machine, reboot your entire server or just a specific software component, and work with files, folders and databases with virtually no restrictions. All you'll need for that is a console or an SSH client on your end.
